Fall Registration 2019-20

I am excited to welcome you all back to another year! I have some new ideas about how to guide and facilitate more productive and efficient home practice, note-taking in lessons and of course, new music for everyone to learn!

Just a reminder to returning families that the Registration email has been sent out and I am slowly putting together the schedule for the coming year. Please remember to submit your scheduling preferences for the coming year.

J’ai hâte de vous revoir sous peu! J’ai de nouvelles idées pour guider et faciliter une pratique efficace à la maison, mieux prendre les notes pendant les cours (parents ou élèves), et bien sûr de la nouvelle musique! 

Un petit rappel pour remplir le formulaire de préférences pour l’année 2019-20. Je suis présentement en train d’organiser l’horaire pour la rentrée. N’oubliez pas de retourner votre formulaire de préférences pour la rentrée dès que possible.

What are your practice goals for 2019?

What did you do well in 2018? 

Where would you like to be by March, June, October 2019?

In what areas do you feel you need improvement?

Should we begin a practice or listening studio challenge?

How have you been doing at keeping your review pieces fresh? Can you try some of your easy pieces in a different key? in a different position? with a funky bowing?

How about note reading...do we need to do a check-up? daily practice? sight-reading exercises? more ensemble work?

We are all set for our Winter Recital happening this Saturday December 9, 2017 at 2pm at St. Columba by the Lake Church in Pointe-Claire. 

Very excited to enjoy all the hard work you have been putting in over the last few months! :) 

We will give a Christmas concert at the Manoir Pierrefonds on Saturday December 23, 2017 at 3pm in an effort to bring some holiday joy to the residents there! If you have any holiday favourites you would like to review or learn for this occasion, please let me know! I will be distributing some new music at Friday's final group rehearsal...

We are off to a wonderful start to a new academic year! 

We had a great Welcome Back Corn Roast party and group class session to ring in the new year and everyone seems to be in tip top shape! 

We are looking forward to many performance opportunities this year, including opportunities to give back in the community. We will be learning more pieces (sight reading and for performance) in order to prepare for these performances. I would like to suggest that we continue to work hard to get a group ready to audition for the first Suzuki Conference in Mexico in May 2019! ;-) This would be a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with a larger Suzuki community and to find more reasons to be passionate about our musical journey! 

Due to some changes in my day to day schedule, I will be able to take on some new beginners this year! If you know of anyone interested in joining our community, please direct them to the website and encourage them to contact me! I will also try to update the website more often in an effort to keeping record of our musical adventures...

You are a fantastic group of people and I am so excited and grateful to have the opportunity to work with you and your children! Have a wonderful academic year everyone!
